Our History
Born from a desire to build a true utilitarian 4x4 with modern reliability, INEOS Automotive was founded in 2017 by British industrialist Sir Jim Ratcliffe. Dissatisfied with the disappearance of rugged, no-nonsense off-road vehicles, Ratcliffe set out to create a new kind of 4x4—one that combined classic capability with modern engineering.
The result is the INEOS Grenadier—a purpose-built off-roader inspired by legendary vehicles like the original Land Rover Defender. Developed in partnership with world-class engineering teams and tested in the planet’s harshest environments, the Grenadier is designed to go where others won’t, without compromising on comfort or durability.
